STEP INTO THE SHADOWS TO SEE THE LIGHT AT SYDNEY’S NEWEST, OLDEST HOTEL AND BAR—MORRIS.

Descend into the heat of the moment, as you flock like moths to the flame of Bar Morris.

Descend into the heat of the moment, as you flock like moths to the flame of Bar Morris.

Housed within a striking Italian renaissance building with palatial Art Deco sentiments; Morris has found new life as an evocative bar and boutique hotel.  Poised like dusk, between old and new, light and dark, Italian design and

Australian influence, Morris is a destination that hums with intrigue and is unlike any other. Each venue represents a distinct but interlinked story and to move between the bar and hotel is to experience a transition in mood and design.

A hideaway, a place of fleeting glances and warm embraces, the bar is a meeting of moody lighting, classic table finishing and highly illusionary and densely hung artworks. Sip on specialty coffee, peruse a wine and cocktail list as deep as our thoughts and devour baked treats or deli-style plates.

Our hotel is the physical manifestation of a moment of pause - this transient space is designed to feel both familiar and unexpected.

Head Chef at Bar Morris is Rosy Scatigna, a young culinary star on the rise.

Born in Puglia, Southern Italy, Rosy grew up witnessing the simple and traditional cooking of her mother and grandma. Over the years, Rosy gained experience in one Michelin star restaurant Lume (Milan), two Michelin star restaurant The Hand & Flowers (Marlow), Aria and two-hatted Shell House.

Rosy brings her authentic Italian heritage, extensive culinary expertise, and passionate offbeat personality to Bar Morris.

The exciting Italian inspired share menu is fun and dynamic, focusing on convivial and seasonal dishes.   The “out-of-the-box” menu is a homage to innovation with a strong Italian twist.
